How to Create and Manage Your Own Website (8 Steps)
Register a domain name through a website such as Domain.com, Register.com or GoDaddy.com. This is your site's Web address, which is a unique name preceded by 'www.' and followed by a domain, such as '.com,' '.org' or '.net.' You usually pay an annual fee of between $5 and $20 to retain a domain name.
Purchase the services of a Web host, such as GoDaddy.com, Hostgator.com or Asmallorange.com. This gives you the storage space and bandwidth to put your site on the Web and receive visitors. Your provider will give you instructions for attaching your domain name to your hosting account.
Design your website with paid software such as Microsoft Expression Web, Adobe Dreamweaver or Web Studio. You may also use a free site-building program that comes with your hosting service. You may also build your site with a free program, such as Yahoo! SiteBuilder, WordPress or Google Sites. Most programs have a built-in wizard that takes you step-by-step through the design process. Several online programs also offer free (but limited) hosting and a Web address.
Add content. Base each page around a handful of relevant keywords, mentioning them a few times on each page. Keywords help search engines recognize your site's relevance to a given topic and direct readers to your site.
Upload your site to the Web. Your hosting provider will offer specific instructions for uploading your design files through a control panel. For online programs such as WordPress.com and Google Sites, click 'Save' or 'Publish.'
Log in to your hosting account or to the dashboard of your online site-building program to manage and update files, pages and posts.
Promote your site using free social media and networking tools, such as Facebook, Twitter and Digg.

How to set up a webcam (hosted and using FTP)
PURCHASE A WEB CAM:I described that you could use a PnP (Plug and Play) webcam in my first article, but for this operation, you will probably want to consider a little better web cam. You can still use a PnP camera at first, but you will want to upgrade as time goes on. I would recommend the use of the $50 - $70 Logitech webcams for this operation.
INSTALL THE WEBCAM SOFTWARE:Once you have your camera, install the software that comes with it. READ the instructions for installing your webcam onto your local computer. Troubleshoot as needed for setup.
FTP DELIVERY SYSTEM OVERVIEW: In my basic webcam set up article, I discussed the use of a free hosting provider or the use of Yahoo, AOL, MSN, or SKYPE. However if you have your own webserver, there are two main ways to deliver your webcam content to your website and server:1) FTP (File Transfer Protocol) to your website and your webserver that you host with. We will discuss this option in this article. 2) Set up an in-house server that uses webcam software to stream your images. I am not going to discuss this option in this article.
DOWNLOAD WEBCAM FTP SOFTWARE:This method assumes that you know how to use an FTP program to publish your website already. There is a lot of free software out there that you can use to set up an FTP link to your hosting provider for your webcam. A few webcams come with free webcam software that you can also use. I recommened that you look into using Webcam32, (trial version, then purchase) TinCam (trial version and purchase) or ConquerCam (trial version and purchase). You can also do a Google search for other software programs available and free software available.Which ever one you decide to use, download it and install it on your computer. Set up your webcam as instructed in the directions of the software.
SET UP YOUR WEBCAM FTP ACCOUNT:Alright, so now we will set up the FTP information so that your images and video can get online! Depending on the software you downloaded, you may have a built-in web page builder or you will have to create a video wrapper on your web page. I will not explain that here, so you can look this up on Google. You will need to have a basic knowledge of html to understand how to do this. Build a test web page for this purpose on your site.
TEST THE CAMERA:Once you have set up your FTP account, you can now test the WebCam and see if it is saving data out to your FTP account and your test webpage. Congratulations if it is working correctly, if not, check your code on your HTML page, and also check the FTP information you provided to the software.

How to Restore SQL Backup (5 Steps)
Log in to your web hosting CPanel or equivalent. This will vary depending on your host. A common example is http://www.yoursite.com/cpanel. If you do not have these details, you will need to contact your web hosting provider.
On your hosting CPanel, find the section labeled 'Databases.' Click the icon marked 'phpMyAdmin.'
Select the name of the database you wish to restore from the list of databases on the left side of the phpMyAdmin screen. In this example, the database is named '_test.'
Select the option marked 'Import' that is above the details of your database.
On the import page, press the 'Browse' button, and locate the SQL backup file from which you will be restoring. Compression will be automatically detected. Once the backup file is selected, press 'Go.' The backup may take some time to import successfully.

How to Use CPanel to Create a Website
Create your website files using Notepad or an HTML program. Save the files on your computer and remember where you saved them.
Log in to Cpanel. Use the information your hosting provider gave you to log in to your Cpanel account.
Access the main directory. Click on the icon that says 'File Manager' and then select the 'Document Root' folder for your domain. Next click on ''public_html'.

How to Start a Business Offering Your Own Web Server
Research various Web hosting providers that offer reseller accounts for dedicated or virtual private server hosting. Thousands of Web server providers exist on the Web; however, few actually maintain their own servers or data centers. For information on Web server hosting providers, visit websites like WebHostingTalk or ResellerPremium. These types of sites offer insight into server companies and the plans they offer. When researching dedicated or virtual private server hosting companies, review comments made by other resellers regarding reliability, pricing plans and support for partners or resellers.
Subscribe to and purchase a server reseller-hosting plan. When subscribing to a plan, consider paying for a full year of reseller hosting in advance, as you will probably receive a discount on the wholesale rate plan.
Learn the management interface that the server provider uses with its system. The management interface is a crucial component of your Web server business and is where you assign, configure and maintain customer server accounts. Create a few sample accounts and configure two or three test servers to learn how to perform the tasks quickly and efficiently. Once customers begin ordering hosting services from your company, they will expect quick configuration and use of their servers.
Publish a domain name that identifies your company as a web server provider. Create a professional website for the business or hire a Web designer to do the work for you. When creating the website, list detailed information on the types and configurations of the Web servers you offer, hosting plan information and pricing information. Provide information on the types of operating systems available, bandwidth usage policies and acceptable uses for the Web servers. To avoid potential legal issues, do not allow website owners to use the servers to display pornography, facilitate transfers of copyrighted material or violate and laws.
Develop a payment processing system for the website. Create an online form for users to submit billing and payment information. Alternatively, have them submit contact information and then call them for needed payment details.
Advertise your Web server company on as many high-volume websites as possible. Alternatively, purchase ads or advertising credits from major traffic-producing sites like Google, LinkShare or DoubleClick. Keep in mind that to drive customers to your site, you must create as much exposure for your new Web business as possible.
Receive orders for Web server hosting accounts and process the payments. Assist the customer in setting up the dedicated or virtual private server as needed.

How to Make an E
Choose a domain name for your website. Use your business name if it's available. If it's not, choose something simple and easy for your customers to remember.
Register the domain you've chosen. There are a number of domain registrars charging a variety of fees for registration. Avoid companies that charge more than $10.
Select a company to host your website. Research the tools and services providers offer and make sure they offer exactly what you need before making a commitment. An e-commerce website must have shopping cart technology and methods for taking payment.
Use the tools your web provider offers to build your website if you don't have web page creation skills. Your home page should clearly explain what sort of products you sell or services you provide. Use graphics and photos appropriate to your business to hold your visitor's interest.
Make a catalog of your products. Include good photographs, complete product descriptions and current prices. Anticipate any questions customers might have about the products and answer them in your descriptions.
Make ordering your products easier with shopping cart technology. List your shipping charges and explain what shipping methods you use, when orders are filled and when customers can expect to receive their merchandise. Use a shipping method that allows online tracking and email your customers tracking numbers.
Open a PayPal account if you don't have accounts with credit card companies. List other payment methods you accept and explain the delays that payment by check or money order might create.
List your terms, returns policies and guarantees. Make sure your customer service email and telephone numbers are prominently displayed on the home page and ordering pages. .
Include a map and directions if you have an open shop. Take photos of your business and list hours of operation.

How to Build a Niche Store Online
Choosing the right niche can be the key to success for your business. Spend some time researching what people are searching for and buying. Be sure that your niche is populated by enough buyers with money to spend in the market.
Carefully evaluate your competition. No competition might mean that there are no buyers. Are there areas in which you could excel over your competition? How will your site be better than theirs? Create a unique selling position for your business.
If you do not already have products to sell, consider carefully what kind of products you will promote. Physical products that you ship yourself require an investment of both money and time. Affiliate products are popular because they offer easy entry into the market and availability.
Affiliate products are available from many different providers. Clickbank is one of the largest and most popular sources of digital information products. If you prefer to promote brand-name products, Commission Junction is a good place to begin.
You will need to purchase hosting from a web hosting provider. You can obtain free sites in many places around the web, but you don't own the site in this case. It would be a setback to build a successful business and lose it because you did not own the site. Once you have a hosting account, register a domain name for your site. Try to acquire a name that has your niche keywords in the name.
Build your website around your products, offering lots of information to attract buyers. Product reviews, purchasing guides and other content that would be of interest to your customers will bring traffic to your site and help you make sales.
Use a good shopping cart. If you are selling affiliate products, you will be sending your customers to their checkout and can skip this step. But if you are selling your own products, you need to install a shopping cart on your site. A good place to start is using the PayPal shopping cart. PayPal acts as your merchant account and completes the transaction for you. Customers can check out through the PayPal shopping cart using their credit cards; they do not need a PayPal account.
You are now ready to set up your products in the store. Each of your products needs compelling sales copy to entice the buyer to purchase, and each needs to be enabled in the shopping cart. It is a good idea to test each product and be sure that it is checking out properly.
Advertising your site is an ongoing process. You have many options available to you, and you should probably take advantage of all of them to some extent. Paid advertising is the easiest and most expensive. Be careful to know your profit margins when purchasing advertising.
One of the most effective free advertising methods is article writing. Write articles about your market and link them to your site content. This will naturally create links and draw people into your site.
Establish a link-building campaign and trade links with sites similar to yours. Incoming links coupled with good onsite content will help you to rank high with Google and other search engines and can bring more visitors to your store.

How to Create Your Own Sports Website (5 Steps)
Come up with a name for your website. Whatever the subject of the website will be, use that word in the name of your website. Be aware, however, that if your site will be about one particular team or team player, laws prohibit you from using the name of a team or player in the name of your website.
Purchase your domain name, which is the same as the name of your website. This can be done at any domain name seller's site. The top-rated domain name seller is GoDaddy.com.
Purchase a hosting plan. This is basically Internet rental space, wherein you'll be paying a hosting provider for the rights to place your website on their servers so that your site will be available to the world.
Build your site. To do this, use a website programming language (html, xml, or xhtml). If you have no knowledge of these languages, use a website building software, such as CoffeeCup.com.
Monetize your site by registering with affiliate networks. There's a link to a list of dozens of free affiliate networks in the Resources section below.By using affiliate networks, you can earn commissions by using unique links that the affiliate networks provide you with. When a person visits your site, clicks on one of those links, and makes a purchase, you will earn commission.Depending on the theme of your sports website, you can link to books about sports, sports memorabilia, sports posters, and basketball and football jerseys, among other things.
