How to Choose a Hosting Provider

Make a list of the hosting needs of your website before searching for a host. This includes technical requirements like server platform and hardware requirements, disk space needed, bandwidth requirements and other hosting features. Other features include compatibility with web authoring tools like Dreamweaver or FrontPage, support for video clips, and support for e-commerce activities.
Research the reputation of each potential hosting service provider. Check user reviews to find what customers have to say about their experiences with the hosting provider.
Evaluate reliability and scalability. The hosting provider should not only be reliable and fast, it should guarantee at least 99% uptime if not 99.5%. They should have a refund policy if they fail to provide the minimum speed guaranteed. Also, look for a service provider who is prepared for scalability. For example, if you want to increase your disk space, bandwidth or mySQL database, they should be able to do it without much problem.
Require excellent technical support and services. The provider should have competent technicians available all 7 days a week round the clock to help resolve your problems in a timely fashion. You can gauge their responsiveness by sending them some general inquiry mails and noting the response time. A response time of less than 24 hours is okay, but anything more than a day is considered poor service. A good hosting provider should provide support systems like toll free numbers, 24/7 email support, live chat, an online knowledgebase, and helpful FAQs.
Assess payment plan options. Determine if you will have to pay on a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis. Many hosting providers offer the option of monthly payment. In case you are not satisfied with their services, you can switch over to another provider after a month without having to worry about any refunds.

How to Build Your Own Online Lingerie Site (6 Steps)

Purchase a domain name and web-hosting services for your lingerie Web site. The domain name should include keywords that are relevant to the lingerie you are selling, such as pinkcamisoles.com, sheerbras.com. or sexylingerie.com. By incorporating keywords, you have a greater chance of being found by search engines.
Obtain a payment gateway, by using sites such as Paypalcom, Charge.Com, or PaySimple.Com (no endorsements). The payment gateway will allow you to receive and process credit card payments from your Web site customers.
Log into your Web-hosting account. Go to the file directory to create a frontpage/homepage for your lingerie Web site. To make shopping easier for your customers, consider creating Web site links to the different lingerie categories on the front page, by using terms such as bras, panties, teddies, gowns, chemises, and camisoles. Save the front page after you have finished designing it.
Create other pages for the different categories that were created in Step 3. For example, on the 'bras.html' page, you should upload pictures for all of your bras. The gowns page will contain pictures of all of your gowns. Along with the lingerie pictures, you should also include a short product description and pricing information. Save all of your pages as you complete them.
Place payment buttons on your Web site so that your customers can click on the buttons to purchase your lingerie. You will need to setup pricing for your items inside of the payment gateway tool that you chose in Step 2. After setting up pricing, you will receive the HTML code to go along with the button. Note that this method will require a little knowledge of HTML coding.
Promote your lingerie Web site by submitting the address for your site to all of the major search engines.

How to Create a Professional Web Site

Purchase a domain name, which is the address for the website. Inexpensive and reputable sites to purchase domains include GoDaddy.com and Namecheap.com, but there are others. Choose the right domain name to give the site a more professional and branded look.
Sign up for web hosting. When running a professional website, it is important the site does not crash on customers. Check for either VPS or dedicated servers. Common sites to consider are ServInt.net or ThePlanet.com.
Create your website pages. It is important to include a 'Contact' page and an 'About' page. The 'Contact' page should include a phone number and an email. The 'About' page should explain what the company and its origins. If you offer a certain product or service, include a page on that as well.
Choose neutral colors and avoid flashy graphics. In addition, the colors should mesh well. A professional designer can help you choose.
Upload the files to the web host with an FTP client such as Filezilla-project.com. Depending on the size of the files, this should be accomplished in a very short amount of time.

How to Create a PDF Ecard Greeting Card Business

Gather your PDF card inventory. You'll need ecards before you put your business together. You can create the cards yourself or purchase card ideas from freelance artists and writers. Produce the ecards yourself using a desktop publishing program, such as Serif PagePlus or Scribus, both of which are free. You can save your finished cards as PDF, using Acrobat, Nitro PDF or one of the free virtual PDF printers, such as CutePDF. You may also be able to enlist friends or family in the design process if you know anyone who has drawing, writing or photography experience. The key is to create original material that customers will only be able to get from you. There are plenty of free ecard available; your original work is what will entice buyers.
Look for a web host. Avoid a free web hosting service that will post ads on your website. You want to keep your website professional. Look for web hosting that offers business features such as a shopping cart. You can also use a PayPal account for sales. Also look for a web hosting service that offers domainname registration so you can have a www.yourbusinessname.com address.
Set your website up using the tools provided by your web host. Many web hosting services offer templates you can use to create an easy shopping experience for you potential customers. A gallery template that displays thumbnails of your ecards linked to the purchase page for each is an ideal way to set up PDF greeting card display. Include a page about your company, a page for artist and writer bios, and an FAQ with company contact info.
Categorize your cards according to type. This makes it easier for customers to browse for specific types of cards they're looking for. Some web hosting services include search tools you can insert into your website to allow users to search for cards.
Price your PDF ecards reasonably and according to your expenses. Pricing is subjective, but you want to find a price that works to allow you to compete with free ecard downloads. Take into consideration that the cost of production for PDF ecards is lower than paper cards. A good starting point may be between one and three dollars, depending on whether you paid an artist and writer.

How to Start an Online Shoe Store Business

Write a business plan for your online shoe store. Will you sell designer shoes for a local market, or sell athletic shoes for worldwide Nike, Adidas and Puma fans? Interview other successful online shoe retailers for tips on writing your shoe retail business plan. Search the Small Business Administration's website for sample business plans for your online shoe business.
Register a domain name. Your domain name is a piece of internet real estate that your customers will use to shop for shoes. To please the search engines and your customers, reserve a domain name that includes the words 'online shoe store' to maximize SEO opportunities. The price of domain names can range from 99 cents to 10 dollars.
Design your online store and obtain secure hosting. Buy a ready-made template for your shoe store or use a web designer specializing in online retail websites. Ensure that whatever retail website application you choose provides options for sizing, photos of the shoes, available colors and product descriptions for your online shoe customers.
Get state and local business requirements for your online shoe store. A retail shoe store business, whether it is online or free-standing, must have a sales tax license, incorporation from the state and an EIN number. If you buy merchandise with a shoe wholesaler, you will need to provide proof of a retail license, a business account and corporation documents to complete a shoe order.
Obtain your shoe store merchandise through wholesalers and distributors. Look for store closeouts on eBay. Peruse online wholesalers for shoe brands that your ideal customer will purchase online. Contact shoe manufacturers directly to see if they will give you a deal for bulk orders. Start off with 10 sizes for each shoe style to ensure that your customer selection is varied.
Prepare for customer service and shipping requirement for your online shoe store. Create a designated email address for customer complaints and issues. Investigate the prices for drop shipping (where the designer shoes are warehoused instead of storing the merchandise in your home) or use Fed Ex or UPS for standard and overnight shipping requests.
