How to Organize a Seasonal Consignment Sale

Determine the sales categories. While you can host a general sale, focusing your event around items for children, furniture, women's clothing or toys provides a marketing edge to your sale. Selecting specific categories also helps with on-location organization.
Establish a date and location for your event. Scout out facilities that feature sufficient parking, an enclosed or covered location and large open spaces to house the consignment goods. You can select a weekend sale, a sale that runs for a week, or multiple dates during a season.
Rent or purchase display racks and tables. Ensure the types of items you plan to feature at your sale will be displayed for easy viewing by customers.
Set the rules for your consignment sale. Determine the percentage return the consignee can receive for their goods, who prices items and how to handle items that are not purchased. Create specific times and requirements for the delivery of consignment goods to prevent confusion and streamline the pricing and organization of goods.
Create an organizational system for tracking goods and sales. You can opt to purchase software specifically designed for seasonal consignment sales, use standard productivity software or use a manual system. The system must have a coding system for tracking goods, physical tags and an easy way to calculate the amount of money owed to each consignee.
Market your event. Use a variety of marketing channels to reach potential consignees and customers. Options include a website, print media, social media marketing, online consignment sale listings and physical flyers. If you plan to have recurring seasonal sales, offer an e-mail sign up list to attendees to make marketing easier for your next event.
Set up employee schedules. You will need individuals to help price goods, organize the facility, assist customers the day of the sale and clean up after the event.

How to Create Start a Website

Conceptualize. Never jump into a project without first figuring out exactly what you want to do. Software offers such a multitude of options that you can easily lose focus during creation. Be sure to have a solid plan before you begin to build.
Chose a platform to build your website. If you have minimal knowledge of HTML, use Moonfruit or a similar program that requires no knowledge of HTML. If you want to be a bit more advanced, use Adobe Dreamweaver or comparable software to build your website.
Follow your original plan, but feel free to improvise a bit. Once you open a builder, you will be shocked at the array of tools at your disposal. Many preset themes may fit your tastes; alternatively, create your own design based on your concept from the first step.Spice up your website with photographs. Find a stock photo site to use by conducting an Internet search.
Publish your website. You need to choose a domain name and a hosting plan for your site. The Internet offers many free options for hosting; however, a domain name will never be free if it stands alone. For example, “xyz.com” cannot be obtained for free. Alternatively, “tripod.com/xyz” may be available for free.
Profit from your creation. Even if you do not sell a product, your website can earn money in the form of advertising revenue. Google and Yahoo both offer programs that will pay you when people click on their ads on your site. Other Web advertising services are out there as well. The more traffic you pull in, the more advertising revenue you can make. Thus, be sure to optimize your meta-tags to boost your search engine optimization (SEO). Also, be sure to submit your website to Google and other search engines. Free programs will let you do so. Finally, consider paying to buy some advertising for yourself. It may pay dividends to invest some money upfront to jump-start your traffic.

How to Upload an HTML Theme From ThemeForest

Download your theme or template from your ThemeForest downloads page. Click on your account name in the upper-right of their Web page. Unzip the file to an easy-to-find location on your hard drive.
Open the theme folder. In most cases, the files you need to edit and upload to your Web space are located in a sub-folder under the theme's name. Locate the 'index.html' file and open it in Notepad or an HTML editor. HTML editors are preferable, as they allow you to view the design of the theme and make changes without knowing HTML. The main value you want to find and change is the page title, and possibly the copyright text. The title is located near the top of the document, between '
' tags. The copyright text is likely located at the very bottom.
Access your Web space using your host's Web control panel, or an FTP program. If your Web space does not put you in the root of your domain by default, you may need to open the 'htdocs' or 'www' folder to access your site root. Refer to your host's documentation for how to find your website folder if needed.
Upload the edited contents of your theme's Web files folder to your website folder by dragging the files from one window to the other, or selecting them in your control panel and clicking 'Upload.' The HTML files must be in the main website folder and not in a sub-folder. For example, your website structure may have an index.html and contact.html in the root folder, and an 'images' sub-folder.
Type your URL into your Web browser to test your webpage. If the files were uploaded to the correct place, you should see your main page, or index.html file. Continue to make changes to the files using your text editor, then upload them to view the updated pages.

How to Plan a Red Carpet Event

Decide on the purpose and theme of your event. Are you planning a party to provide entertainment, a charity or fund-raising event to raise money for a cause or are you celebrating a major milestone or accomplishment?
Develop a budget for your red carpet event. This will keep you on track as you come up with your guest list and select a venue, a caterer and décor.
Make a guest list. This will give you an idea of how many people will attend the event, which you will need to know when you make decisions about your party location and menu.
Visit 5 to 7 locations to find the perfect venue to host your red carpet event. Compare the capacities, the cost and the convenience or uniqueness of the locations, and consider the season for outdoor venues.
Search for vendors. You'll want to get price estimates and menu ideas from at least two different caterers. A red carpet event could include a buffet-style or a sit-down dinner. Decide whether you want to do an open bar or cash bar. Be sure to price appetizers, entrees, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages and desserts. Find a local photographer to take pictures during your event. Contact a florist and select decorative flowers that complement your party theme.
Create your invitations. You can make your invites at home using a word processing program like Microsoft Word or a design program like Adobe Illustrator or Microsoft Publisher. If you'd rather buy your invitations, visit your local stationery stores and office supply stores to review your options. Be sure to inform guests of directions, date and time of the event, proper attire and instructions on how to RSVP. Send invitations to everyone on your guest list 6 to 8 weeks before the scheduled event.
Visit your local party supply store or superstore to pick up elegant items to decorate your venue. Candles and balloons are popular, but you may find more unusual decorations. Use your imagination.
Don't forget to rent or purchase a red carpet! Check your local party suppliers or do an online search to find sources. To give your event real Hollywood appeal, you may even consider purchasing a step and repeat wall, the large-scale banner printed with media logos that is hung along the red carpet at the venue entrance. You can have banners custom-made with your own party-themed logos.
When you have received all your RSVPs, follow up with your vendors and give them your final count of attendees.
Create an agenda for your event to keep you organized on the big day. Include a schedule of tasks that need to be done before the event, the start time, any special activities during the event, the end time and tasks for the clean-up period, if necessary.
