How to Remove a Sponsored Link From a Home Page

Pay for a better site. The first thing you have to consider is paying or paying more for your site. Most hosts that offer free or low-cost website hosting offer an upgrade for a very small amount. The upgrade will remove the sponsors from your own page. You may still be using a sub-domain or you may have your own--it depends on the host. with a little more money you can upgrade to a site with no sponsored links. Hosting can be as cheap as $3 a month. If you want to make up that cost you can use Google AdWords to help pay for the costs. This is basically another form of sponsored link, but you're more in control.
Sign up for free hosting with no advertisements. There are companies that offer free hosting with no advertisements or sponsored links, such as the site X10hosting. The host will require something from you, such as participating in forums, to help make up the cost. There will also likely be limits on your website that offer less flexibility than you would get with paid hosting.
Use Blogger. Blogger.com is a free service that lets anyone write a blog for free with no advertisements. There are other websites that allow free blogs, but Blogger is the most well known and will give you a URL that looks like this: (yourname).blogspot.com. Different sites have different formats and options. This can be the best way to establish an Internet presence with no sponsored ads or links.
Call customer support. If you really want to keep the website you have on your current host, try calling or emailing customer support and asking them what you can do to remove sponsored links or ads.

How to Start an E Business

Create a name for the business. This involves coming up with a name that is easy to remember, and also catchy enough to stay right on the tip of consumers' tongues. Search the names of your competition to give you ideas, and then write a list of possible names for your business. Use a process of elimination to decide which name suits your business best.
Build a website by finding a hosting company that specializes in eBusiness websites. The top three eBusiness Web hosting companies are JustHost, HostMonster, and BlueHost (as listed on the 'Top 10 Web Hosting' website, a site that compares Web hosting companies). Consider a hosting company that will register your domain name for you. You can also register the domain name on your own using Network Solutions or Dotster.
Launch the website by submitting the URL to Yahoo, MSN, or Google, for example. Each search engine will ask for a list of keywords to describe your business. This is done to allow the search engine to rank your website among other similar websites. The process of coming up with really good keywords is known as search engine optimization (SEO). Put thought into the keywords you choose. Try to put yourself in the position as the consumer, and ask what terms you would type in to find your product. Search engines put a lot of weight into keywords when determining how a website is ranked. Don't leave this step to chance. Give it some real thought.
Market the website. This can be done through a number of ways. Article marketing allows you to post articles about your product niche in free article directories such as Ezine Articles or Article Street. In turn, people who read your articles on these sites have a chance to come visit the website, and hopefully buy a product or two. Post a press release online in which you can announce the start of your eBusiness, telling potential customers what you are selling and how the product can be beneficial. Hand out business cards every chance you get (think of friends, family, and people who would benefit from your product). Never underestimate the power of word-of-mouth as a source for marketing. Show pride in your business to make people want to find out more about your product. Advertise in newspapers as well. Remember that an eBusiness has the potential to reach customers around the globe, so advertising on websites that complement your product may be a good idea as well.
Keep the website updated and maintained. Do something to the site at least once a week. No one wants to buy products from a stale online store. Customers want to know that you are an expert in your product line, so offer free How-To guides and blogs, as well as other content that requires continuous updates. Visitors like interaction as well. Place a poll or survey link that is centered around your product line. Anything that keeps potential customers coming back is good.

How to Build a Merchant Website (5 Steps)

Select your company name. Your name should be easy to remember. Once you've selected your name, purchase a domain name from GoDaddy.com (see Resources).
Choose an E-commerce site to host your Web site. Volusion.com offers an entire package that includes your domain name, shopping cart and Web hosting, starting at $19.95. Corecommerce.com is another E-commerce site that offers packages for as little as $29.95 (you will need to purchase your own domain name). Both sites offer business e-mail addresses, Web site templates (and the ability to use your own design), marketing tools, accounting tools, data feeds, Google AdWords coupons, the ability to create coupons or newsletters for your store and the ability to accept a number of different payment methods such as Paypal, Google Checkout and credit cards. GoDaddy.com allows you to pick and choose the services you need, such as a domain name or shopping cart. Web hosting starts at $4.99. If you aren't familiar with SEO and online selling, an all-inclusive site such as Corecommerce.com may be the way to go. Both Volusion.com and Corecommerce.com offer a free 30-day trial.
Build an attractive storefront. Take high-quality images of your products and create clear and thorough product descriptions that use relevant key words.
Create your business profile on an About Me page on the Web site that includes some information about how your business began, your vision and your goals. Create a Shipping and Returns page as well as a Privacy Notice page that tells your customers how you intend to use and safeguard their personal information.
Minimize risks by using security measures such as Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificates such as those offered by VeriSign and payment gateways such as Authorize.net (see Resources). Contact your hosting site to see what services they offer or which gateways are compatible.
