How to be a good host for houseguests

Know when your guests are coming and how long they will stay. Clear your calendar to make sure you can spend plenty of time with them. Ideally, try to have someone in your home who can accompany them at all times. If this is not possible, try to have a car available for them in case they want to explore the area on their own or run an errand.
Stock up: A good host has well-fed guests. Find out what your guests can and cannot eat and which foods they enjoy the most. For breakfast, standard fare usually suffices: eggs, coffee, toast and so forth. For lunch, sandwiches are generally fine. Save your guest's favorite dishes for dinner. Party food (tacos, pizza, etc.) can make for a great and simple dinner.
Clean up: Having guests is a great reason to straighten up the house. This is the time to recycle the pile of mail and magazines on the kitchen table, scrub the tub, mop the floors and vacuum the rugs.
Mind the animals: Make sure you know whether your guests have pet allergies. If so, find out how strong they are and plan accordingly. With mild allergies, it will do to vacuum thoroughly and keep the animal away from the guest. But if your guest has a strong pet allergy, it may be necessary to confine the animal or have it stay somewhere else for the time being.

How to Create an Online Liquidation Business (6 Steps)

Set up a place to store your inventory. This can be a room, closet or even the garage, if you are choosing to run the business from your home. If you to store a large amount of inventory and don't have the room in your home, lease a storage unit at a local storage rental facility or you can lease a storefront, if you can afford it. The place where you will store the inventory needs to be dry and clean. Preferably, have shelves for easy storage and retrieval when you need to ship purchases to customers.
Pick a niche. Whether it be clothing or electronics, choose an area to specialize in. You can choose an assortment of items to sell, but if you have a certain niche it will be easier to find your target audience when marketing your business. You can choose other areas of your business, including your business name and website address, based on your niche.
Find your liquidation merchandise. Companies sell surplus, returned, overstocked and liquidated merchandise in bulk for reduced prices. Check local sales papers and advertisements for stores in your area selling liquidated merchandise. Online websites, like Liquidation.com, have listings of people selling liquidation products. Some sellers on regular auction sites, like Ebay, sell bulk and surplus items. Set up an account and bid on pallets of merchandise you want to sell.
Build a website. Register for a domain name from companies like GoDaddy.com or DomainsAreFree.com. Get a hosting account. Domain name companies also offer hosting packages to keep all of your online services in one location. Some hosting companies, Siteground.com and JustHost.com, offer free domain name registration with hosting packages. Choose a hosting package that has an eCommerce option for selling online. These packages will have everything you need, including an online shopping cart and a step-by-step process for setting up your online storefront.
Set up a payment method. Set up an online merchant account, with companies like MerchantOne or Authorize.net, to accept credit card payments on your website. An alternative is to use PayPal, where the customer can pay from a checking or savings account, credit or debit card, or from their PayPal account balance. Most merchant accounts require a credit check or expensive upfront set-up fees. PayPal costs nothing to set up and many hosting providers allow you to easily add your PayPal account, with payment buttons and shopping carts, to your website.
Market your site. Buy Pay-per-Click advertisements from services such as Adsense or Yahoo. Use an online auction site to sell some of your items and add a link to your website in the listing. Write expert articles on saving money or buying online for ezines and article website with a link to your site in the author details section.

Scroll down the cPanel. Find the section named 'Domains.' Click on 'Domain Manager.' This pulls up the 'Domain Manager' tab. Located on the top left is a panel called 'Shortcuts.'

Next to 'Type' is a drop-down box. The two options are 'Permanent' and 'Temporary.' Choose 'Permanent' if you have no plans to continue using the domain or subdomain that will be redirecting to another website. Choosing this will cause the website to be pulled from search engine indexes. This change is permanent. If you plan to use the pages on the website again, choose 'Temporary.' The search engines will continue to index the website when there are new updates.
Select the domain or subdomain name to which your plan on redirecting. It will be found in the drop-down menu next to 'http://(www.)?" If you are redirecting a subdirectory, type in the subdirectory name after the '/' slash. As an example, the subdirectory to be redirected: 'http://www.yourwebsite.com/directory" will appear in the text box as: 'http://(www.)?yourwebsite.com/directory." In the above example, 'directory' is the subdirectory. Input this after the '/' slash.
Enter the website URL you will be redirecting too. Input this next to the 'Redirects To?'' field. Next to the option titled 'www.redirection,' select the option that is titled 'Redirect With or Without www.'
Click the 'Add' button. This establishes the redirect. Open a Web browser. Type in the domain or subdomain URL that directs to another website. This provides verification that it works.

How to See Who Viewed My Craigslist Ad (5 Steps)

Prepare the images you plan to use in your listing. You don’t need to do anything special with them; just edit them as you normally would.
Contact your Web hosting service and tell them you want to track unique views of a specific image file; they'll explain how you can do this. You may also be able to find the information in their site FAQ or customer support literature. Just look for their Web analytics support documentation.
Upload the image as advised by your Web host’s customer support. You only need to do this with one image. Tracking statistics on multiple images can cause you to accidentally multiply the number of visitors who view your listing. If you do use multiple images, store the others elsewhere on your Web pages or host them directly on Craigslist.
Link to the image when you post your Craigslist ad, using the HTML image tag: . Replace 'URL' with the actual URL of your image, including the 'http://" at the beginning and keeping the quotation marks.
Track the unique downloads for the image in your listing. This number roughly corresponds to the actual number of individual visitors.

How to Uninstall Drupal

Open an FTP connection with your Web server. Almost all Web hosts offer this type of file directory access through a FTP browsing application. This application will allow you to connect to your website's files with a user-created password and sub-domain connection path, such as 'ftp.yourwebsite.com,' for example.
Find the folder in your website directory where you created the Drupal installation.
Delete this entire folder by selecting it in the file browser and choosing 'Delete' from within your FTP application. This will remove all of the Drupal administration functions and all of the files associated with your Drupal-based website.
Open your Web browser and navigate to your website hosting control panel. This is usually found through your Web hosting provider's user area.
Find your database control area, and open it to get access to all of your databases.
Remove the database you created for Drupal when you first installed it. Drupal should be fully removed from your website.

How to Create a DNS Website Redirect (6 Steps)

Log in to your domain registrar account. This is the site where you registered your domain name. It may be the same site as your hosting company, or it may be separate.
Find your domain information. Usually, you should see account details with your individual domains listed.
Locate your DNS information. Not every registrar makes this available. However, in most cases you should be able to find it listed in your domain account. In some cases, DNS may be referred to as 'nameservers.'
Change the DNS information to match the destination IP address. This will instruct any browsers trying to access your current site to visit your preferred address instead. If this functionality isn't available, you may need to search for a CNAME (Canonical Name) option. This will allow you to change the destination web address.
Save your changes. It may take a few hours before the changes register online though it can occasionally take as much as 48 hours.
Test your site to make sure that it is redirecting successfully. If you're having problems with the redirect, you may need to contact your hosting company or domain name registrar.

How to Make an Official Website

Obtain permission to create an official website. Unless you are creating an official website for your own venture, you must obtain permission before even going to work on the site. Talk to the person or group that you wish to create an official website about. Pitch your idea to them, and make sure that they don't already have an official website and that they are interested in you creating one.
Register a domain. Registering a domain rather than hosting somewhere else makes your website look far more professional. If you are creating an official website for a person, band or product, having your own domain is a must. Think of a catchy title that is easy to remember. Then choose a domain registration service, and register your site on the Web.
Find a hosting service. Once you have a domain, you will also need a hosting service. Hosting services keep all the information for your website on a server so that it can be accessed by people on the Web. Some domain registration services also host but may not have prices and services that meet your needs. Do a little research, and find out what hosting service is right for you.
Download website creation software. A number of free programs exist for creating content for your official website, such as Joomla! and NVU. Download one of them to avoid tedious hours spent coding by hand.
Create content. The fun part of creating an official website is making the content. At the very least, you will need a banner and a landing page. The banner should be something visually interesting, the logo of the product or band, or a logo that you design yourself if one does not already exist. Use your website creation software to craft a professional-looking official website. You will probably want to include things like a biography or an about page, a news page, and a resume, bibliography, discography, or other representation of the subject's professional history. Media, such as music, videos, or product documentation or demonstration, can also be helpful.
Upload your content. Your final content files need to be uploaded to your host. This can be done using an FTP server or by using the control panel provided by your hosting service.
Update name servers. Go to your host, and find your name server information. Copy and paste this information, and insert it into the name server information field on your domain service. This will direct your domain to the content at the hosting service.

How to Get a Google AdWords Promotional Code (3 Steps)

Check with your Web hosting company. Many hosting providers distribute Google AdWords coupons to customers on request. These promotional codes are valid only for a limited time, so you’ll need to set up your new AdWords account and redeem the code in a timely manner.
Find promotional codes for Google AdWords by browsing bargain-hunter websites such as FatWallet.com. Members of these communities often find and share promotional codes for AdWords as well as other products and services. A quick online search may yield a number of useful links, but make sure the promotional codes have not expired.
Attend a SEO conference. Most participants at these events receive a promotional code for Google AdWords as well as other advertising freebies.
